Times Square has scheduled special events for the 2022 New Year’s Eve celebration. During the event, the mayor of New York City will press a Waterford crystal button, which will lower the lighted Ball 70 feet in 60 seconds. The New Year’s Eve Ball will then turn off when the numerals “2022” are visible. The show will also include pyrotechnics and confetti.
